Lilac-Breasted Roller
Another colourful little bird! Ink and Coloured pencils

I actually made a mistake in this one which I had to cover up by cutting out paper and sticking it over the messed up section. It's very hard to tell from the scan though but you can see it on the original.
I originally tried fixing the mistake with a while paint pen I have but it comes out like tippex and dried hard and bumpy so there wasn't much I could do with that surface so I had to cover it up.
The paper fix actually doesn't look too bad :) I've got a small brush and some white acrylic to try for next time, hopefully that will give better results!

Spider Boy!!
My latest creepy ink character. Wasn't sure what to call him but I figured 'Spider Boy' would do for now. I had fun doing the little spiders.
I actually gave up working on this guy during the inking process. I just wasn't happy with how it was going and wasn't sure if it was worth continuing. A few things hadn't turned out quite as I planned and there's not really much you can do, except start again, when things go wrong with ink except start again or make the most out of your mistakes. So I left him awhile then looked at it again a week or so later and decided I did actually quite like him and decided to make it work and this is the end product. Sometime it really is a good idea to walk away from a piece for awhile and look at it again with fresh eyes before making a final decision.

The Origami Crane Project
I love seeing the projects of other artists. One I've been following for some time now over Facebook is the Origami Crane Project by Icarus Mid Air.
I first saw this via an article on Bored Panda and thought it was really inspiring and unique. Some of the crane's he's made are beautiful!
Here are a few of my favourites:
If you like origami and paper art or like me you enjoy seeing the projects of other artists then I definately recommend checking out his work!

Something Colourful
During the treatment for my neck I ended up having issues with my back because of the tension build up which has been pretty scary and caused the muscles next to my spine to pull, very painful and worrying but thankfully I'm finally feeling more or less normal. I've even been climbing again this weekend! Saturday and Sunday because I was so happy to be back on the wall and feeling like myself!
So to celebrate I did this quick bird doodle and before I headed out this morning with my brush pen and some coloured pencils!

Daily Doodles
One of my resolutions this year was to make more effort with this blog and update regularly. I'm aiming to update every Sunday and hopefully one weekday with my sketches and anything else I've found inspiring or inspirational throughout the week.
Even though I don't post everything I draw I like to do a doodle of something everyday. Sometimes I have a theme or a particular idea, if not I'll often pick an animal and do a drawing. I particularly like drawing cats! Probably because I have one and I just find them such characters!
Here are a few of my daily cat drawings:
And on the theme of cats, this is a great blog to check out:

Dr Sketchy Sketches
A selection of drawings from last night's Dr Sketchy event. The crazy squiggle ones were from an excercise where you had to put the pad on your head and then draw, crazy! Though I kind of like how I did manage to get some sort of picasso style face in one of them. I think it's probably my favourite drawing from the evening, haha!
